Last updated: 12 August 2026.

This policy explains what personal information PYC Studios collects through pyc-studios.com, why we collect it, who we share it with and what rights you have over it. It sits alongside our Cookie Policy, which covers cookies and similar technologies in more detail.

The information we collect

When you contact us

Our contact form asks for your name, email address and message, and optionally your telephone number. Submissions are sent to us by email.

When you book, buy a pass or buy a gift card

Our timetable, class and workshop bookings, private sessions, passes and gift cards all run on Momence, a third-party booking platform. When you book or create an account you provide your details, including payment details, directly to Momence through the booking window embedded in our pages or on Momence’s own site. We do not see or store your full card details. We can see the booking and account information Momence makes available to us as the studio, such as your name, contact details, purchases and attendance.

Momence handles that information under its own privacy notice as well as under our instructions, so we would encourage you to read it.

When you join our mailing list

The newsletter sign-up in our footer collects your first name, last name and email address, and is sent to us by email. We use it to send studio news, offers, timetable changes and information about workshops and teacher training. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send, or by emailing us.

When you enquire about teacher training

Enquiries about our 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training reach us through the contact form or by email, and are handled in the same way as any other enquiry. If you go on to enrol, we will need further information from you to run the course and to certify you at the end of it, and we will explain that separately at the time.

When you simply visit the site

Like most websites, ours uses cookies and similar technologies, and our hosting provider keeps standard server logs that include your IP address, browser type and the pages you requested. We also use Google Analytics and a Meta advertising pixel. What these set, and how to turn them off, is described in our Cookie Policy.

Why we use it, and our legal basis

Under UK data protection law we need a lawful basis for each use of your information. Ours are:

Where we rely on consent, you are free to say no and free to change your mind later; where we rely on legitimate interests, you can object and we will stop unless we have a compelling reason not to. Neither affects your ability to book a class.

Cookies and tracking

Our Cookie Policy sets out every category of cookie we use (strictly necessary, analytics, advertising, and those set by the Momence booking tools) together with the typical cookie names and lifetimes, and how to clear or block them in your browser.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We do share it with the suppliers who help us run the studio and the website:

  • Momence: bookings, passes, gift cards and class accounts.
  • Google: website analytics, delivered through Google Tag Manager.
  • Meta: advertising measurement on Facebook and Instagram.
  • Our hosting and email providers: so the website runs and so enquiries reach our inbox.
  • Our professional advisers, such as our accountant, where they need it to do their job.

We may also share information where we are required to by law, or to establish or defend a legal claim.

Where your information is held

Some of our suppliers, including Google, Meta and Momence, are based outside the UK or store data outside the UK. Where information is transferred abroad, it is protected by the safeguards UK data protection law requires, such as the UK’s international data transfer agreement or an adequacy decision covering the country concerned.

How long we keep it

We keep information only as long as we actually need it:

  • Enquiries: for as long as it takes to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up, after which the correspondence is deleted.
  • Mailing list: until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you.
  • Bookings and purchases: for as long as you hold an account with us, and then for six years from the end of the relevant tax year, because HMRC requires us to keep financial records for that long.
  • Teacher training records: for as long as we may need to confirm your qualification.
  • Analytics and advertising data: for the periods set out in our Cookie Policy, which are controlled by Google and Meta.
  • Server logs: for the short period our hosting provider retains them.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • have inaccurate information corrected;
  • ask us to delete information we no longer need;
  • ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to our using it;
  • ask us to transfer it to you or another provider in a portable form;
  • withdraw your consent at any time, where consent is what we rely on; and
  • opt out of marketing emails whenever you like.

To exercise any of these, email hello@pyc-studios.com. We will respond within one month. There is normally no charge.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Children

This website is intended for adults and we do not set out to collect information about children through it. Where a booking is made for someone under 18, it should be made by a parent or guardian.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we use personal information, or add a supplier that handles it, we will update this page and the date at the top. Please check back occasionally for the current position.
